9.9 Media has interests across niche communities, content and distribution, print and digital media, and filmed content. It is founded by five senior media professionals. Our ‘community-focused’ institutes offer research and research-led corporate initiatives. Team

Anuradha Das Mathur

Director 9.9 Media, has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Delhi University followed by a Masters degree in Economics from Trinity College, Cambridge. She spent close to 12 years with the Economist Intelligence Unit, India leading their research and advisory business. Over the past 18 months, she established a series of initiatives for India’s mid-sized businesses along with heading Businessworld, India’s largest business magazine.

Asheesh Gupta

Director & Group CFO, 9.9 Media and Principal, 9.9 Ventures, is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He was with McKinsey for several years, serving clients in India, Europe and the Middle East. He successfully established and led Hero Mindmine, one of India’s world-class training companies, from start-up stage to industry leadership in its segment. Thereafter, he headed Corporate Strategy and New ventures for the ABP Group before moving on to set up 9.9 Media. 

Dr Pramath Raj Sinha

Group Managing Director and CEO studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and then received an MSE and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a Partner with McKinsey and Company for several years and led its media practice in India. He also helped set up and served as the Founding Dean of the Indian School of Business (set up in India in collaboration with Wharton, Kellogg, and the LBS). He left McKinsey in 2005 to run the ABP Group, one of India’s premier media companies with interests in print (dailies and magazines), television, books, radio and events. He has very strong professional relationships in corporate India as well as in academia – in India and overseas. He has brought together a team to found 9.9 Media and its different businesses under his leadership.

Kanak Ghosh

Director, 9.9 Media, has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University. With over 22 years of experience, he has, amongst other things, run regional operations for a newspaper, launched an e-business and been part of the  top management of India’s leading energy company, where he was involved in strategy, operational improvement,organisational transformation and customer service. Over the past 18 months he led the Circulation function for the ABP group, overseeing the network distributing two daily newspapers and several magazines across the country.

Vikas Gupta

Director 9.9 Media, CEO 9.9 Print and Principal, 9.9 Ventures is an alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur and is easily one of India’s most senior and highly-regarded marketing professionals. With over 22 years of experience with blue-chip MNCs such as The Coca-Cola Company, Procter & Gamble and Unilever, and then as the Chief Marketing Officer at a leading media company, he has a deep understanding of the Indian market and its consumer dynamics. He has extensive reach into all stakeholders that encompass ‘marketing’ – creative and media fraternity, advertisers and media companies.
